The draft plan for alignment of District 27 and District 29 is now available on the District 27 web site. If you’ve got questions about the area and division your club will be assigned to next year, they’re about to be answered.
This quote from the overview document shows why you should care:
The recommendations of this year’s Alignment and Re-formation Team are subject to the approval of the District Council at its annual business meeting to be held at the Spring Conference in May. TI and district by-laws state that major changes cannot be made after the approval of the district council. Therefore, it is important that the alignment is correct and will be effective throughout the 2011-2012 Toastmaster year to best serve our members, clubs, areas, and divisions.
Members of the realignment committee are named on the web site. If you’ve got questions about the plan or comments to offer, get in touch with chairperson John Lesko or the member for your division. And remember, the District Conference will be held May 13 and 14. Might be a good idea right now to save the dates and make sure that your club is represented at what’s bound to be a momentous business meeting.
