It’s time for you to polish that humorous speech you’re getting ready for the next contest or to tune up for table topics. Brinker Toastmasters will hold its fall contest on Saturday, September 22. You’re all welcome to participate if you’re a paid up member (there may be a few other eligibility requirements), and even if you don’t want to throw your hat into the ring, you’ll want to come to this meeting to encourage other members and to help out with the timing, judging, and other contest roles.
If you’re new to this contest thing or you just want to brush up on contest procedures and requirements, check out the e-training that Toastmasters has made available. Here’s what you’ll find:
Session 1: The Contest and Roles
This session gives you an overview of how speech contests work and the players involved in making them happen.
Session 2: When You’re the Judge
This session focuses on the judge’s role in a speech contest, including obstacles to objectivity.
Session 3: The Judge’s Guide and Ballot
Here we cover how to use the judge’s guide and ballot.
