April is the cruelest month only if you concentrate on your taxes. There are other things going on. For instance, it’s National Poetry Month, and the Poetry Foundation is offering the opportunity to put the skills gained in the Interpretive Reading manual to work.

If you’d rather just read, you can sign up for Knopf’s poem a day mail in April.

April is also the birth month of Leonardo da Vinci and the annual observance of World Creativity and Innovation Week. You can follow World Creativity Week on Twitter for a wealth of suggestions.

And if none of those really turn you on, you can always enjoy National Grilled Cheese Month.
