Social Media Presence

The second question in Table Topics yesterday drew on this old blog post.

Are Toastmasters doing enough to let people know not just about what we are doing but about the value and importance of what we are doing? Do Toastmasters need to be more active in blogging, on Twitter, and in other social media channels?

As you consider your answer, you might want to take a look at this exchange about Toastmasters carried on on an extended Twitter conversation.

  1. This comment could just as easily go into the previous post about technical literacy. Remember that public speaking MOOC that was reported here in June? Turns out it’s been wildly successful: @coursera Online teacher flabbergasted at vast global participation in free @uwnews Public Speaking course. http://t.co/Zt5iJWjeCv/. Seems that the demand for what Toastmasters offers is still there. Maybe we don’t do well enough at letting people know what’s available.
