I watched and was really impressed by this video this morning. It’s a gripping story, well told; it’s a great example of making an effective call to action; and it vividly and convincingly shows how one person can make a difference.
I watch a fair number of presentations that move me—at TED, at the Moth, at CBC’s Q—and I listen to a fair number of podcasts. You probably listen to a fair number of presentations, too, and what strikes me right now is that we might be able to use them as a better learning resource. We can use this site or our Google+ community to post examples of effective speaking. You can
- tell what you learned from the speech (what are the takeaways for you?)
- suggest speaking models that are important to you
It can be a great way way to multiply the value of our membership, and I can hardly wait to see what you suggest.
