StoryCorps provides something to think about

Through November, StoryCorps and Upworthy will release a series of real-life stories told by everyday Americans that speak to our best selves. Stories that amplify love over hate and empathy over fear. Stories that build bridges of understanding between people and help us recognize our shared humanity.

If the election has you wondering #WhoWeAre and where we’re going, it might be time to check out the remarkable videos at StoryCorps and then share the stories and your reaction to them, and maybe use them as the foundation for a Table Topics session. I think it’s worth pointing out that Starbucks has made some pretty good videos of its own available at its Upstanders site where it tells the story “ordinary people doing extraordinary things to create positive change in their communities.”

That makes me wonder how Toastmasters can contribute to the effort.
