I’ve added more than a few posts about storytelling to the blog, and I think last night’s episode of The Moth is worth your sttention. Nathan Englander’s story Unhooked is well told, it’s entertaining, and it seems the perfect fable for our times (except it’s true). On the way from Jerusalem to Berlin, Englander found himself stranded at a railroad station. He was rescued by the quick thinking and fast talking of a German traveler, and his story ends up here:
These people have come from America to our country. They have come to see our country. Are you going to tell them that a ticket that is good in Madrid, that is good in Rome, that is good in Paris is no good here? The great conflict is over. We are one world now. We are all of us brothers.
See what you think.
